# rate_limited

> HTTP 429 — too many requests in the current window.

Your client exceeded the request limit for the current window.

**Retryable.** The response carries a `Retry-After` header with the number
of seconds to wait. Pause at least that long, then resume — ideally with
exponential backoff and jitter so a burst of clients does not retry in step.
