# unauthorized

> HTTP 401 — the bearer token is missing, malformed, or expired.

The request did not carry a valid OAuth bearer token, or the platform behind
FMG Connect rejected the credentials associated with it.

**Retry after refreshing the token.** Obtain a new access token through the
OAuth flow ([FMG](/fmg/oauth/client-integration) ·
[MRC](/mrc/oauth/client-integration)) and repeat the request. If a fresh
token still fails, check that the `Authorization: Bearer …` header is being
sent intact.
